[Q] Will I lose the data in my DataScribe
after I retrieve it?
[A] No, the DataScribe will continue to log data within the current
session until the DataScribe is rest.
[Q] Why does my DataScribe have the incorrect time?
[A] Make sure that your PC has the correct time before resetting
your DataScribe.
[Q] I have a DataScribe in the field that is getting extremely high
temperature readings during the day. What could be causing this?
[A] If you are seeing these high temperature readings during the
day and normal temperatures at night, the DataScribe needs to be sheltered
from solar radiation. Contact Avatel for an Application Note.
[Q] Can I get a shelter for my DataScribe or do I have to order a
DataScribe Field Station?
[A] You can can either construct a radiation shelter yourself, or
purchase one direct from Avatel. When using hand-held DataScribes in field
applications, there are several things to consider. Contact Avatel for an
Application Note.
[Q] How can I make my DataScribe stop logging all together?
[A] In the setup dialog in WinDataSoft, set the interval to sleep
and reset the DataScribe.
[Q] Under what conditions should I reset my DataScribe?
NOTE: Resetting the DataScribe will erase your data. Please make
sure you first retrieve your data.

- After the battery is replaced, it may be necessary
to perform a reset
- If there is not enough time left in the current logging
session
- If you need to change the interval, alarms, or other
settings
